Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 15, 2026.
This policy explains what CanadaDrivingTests.ca collects, why we collect it, and the choices available to you. The site is operated by Simplesteps Education Inc. You can use the free practice tests without creating an account.
Information We Collect
- Basic request data: our hosting and security providers receive information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time when they deliver the site.
- Optional analytics data: if you opt in, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Performance, and Google Tag Manager may collect page views, interactions, device information, approximate location, and performance diagnostics.
- Purchase data: Stripe processes checkout and card details. We receive checkout status, transaction details, and the email supplied at checkout, but not your full card number. We use the email to send a restore link.
- Messages: if you contact support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
Information Collected by Advertising Partners
If you opt in to advertising, Google AdSense and Funding Choices may use cookies or similar technologies to select, deliver, and measure ads. You can decline advertising while continuing to use the practice tests.
How We Use Information
We use data only as needed to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our website
- Improve, personalize, and expand our website
- Understand and analyze how you use our website
- Develop new products, services, features, and functionality
- Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners
- Show and measure advertising when you have opted in
Use of Firebase Analytics and Performance
Analytics and performance tools are off by default. They load only after you opt in through Privacy Settings. You may change or withdraw that choice at any time; withdrawing stops future analytics collection in the site.
Cookies and Browser Storage
- Privacy-choice storage: remembers your analytics and advertising choices for up to 120 days.
- Ad-free access cookie: stores a signed expiry value used by site JavaScript to recognize the access period in that browser. It uses SameSite=Lax and, on the live HTTPS website, the Secure attribute. It does not contain card details, a Stripe password, or Firebase account credentials.
- Optional provider storage: analytics and advertising providers may set cookies only after the related opt-in.
Blocking necessary storage may prevent paid access from being recognized, but the free tests remain available.
Sharing of Information
We disclose data only to service providers that help operate the site (including Firebase/Google, Stripe, hosting, advertising, and email delivery), when you ask us to, or when required by law or needed to protect rights and security. These providers may process data outside your province or outside Canada under their own privacy terms. We do not sell your contact information.
Security
We use HTTPS and limit access to operational systems. Payments are handled on Stripe's checkout; this website does not receive full card details. No online service can promise absolute security.
Retention and Your Choices
The access cookie expires with the purchased access period. Consent choices expire after up to 120 days. Support messages and transaction records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, accounting, security, and legal obligations. Provider-held data follows each provider's retention settings and policy.
You can open Privacy Settings to change optional services. You may also ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we control, subject to applicable legal exceptions, by emailing support.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

Your Privacy Controls
Optional analytics and advertising are off until you opt in. Use Privacy Settings at any time to review or change those choices. You can also use browser controls or industry opt-out tools, but the site's own Privacy Settings are the direct control for this website.
